The National Combat Medical War Memorial will be constructed
of granite, concrete, steel, marble, copper and/or other materials
to provide a pleasant appearance coupled with durability for
cost effective update over the coming decades.
The memorial wall itself will depict the picture and written
description of each Medal of Honor recipient from the Civil War
forward to present time, and all names of those who lost their
lives in the medical service for the United States Armed Forces.
The memorial wall will be artistically segmented in a manner
which will allow for each of the occupations to be highlighted
and described, depicting the specific service occupation
provided to combat personnel.
Complimenting the memorial wall will be an oversized statue
illustrating medical service to the wounded on the field of battle
during the Vietnam War.
The National Combat Medical War Memorial will be 'U' shaped
with the opening accessible from the botanical gardens and
fountain area where the battlefield statue will be located, and
will be the last stop on the History Walk.
